I am sharing this publicly because after two separate experiences with the Pep Boys location on Gunbarrel Road in Chattanooga, I no longer have confidence in their ability to honor appointments or communicate properly with customers. On December 27, 2025, I had a scheduled appointment for four new tires, an oil change, fluid services, and an air filter replacement. I spent more than $1,500 during that visit. Despite having an appointment, I was there for approximately four and a half hours with very little communication about the delay. What made the experience worse was that my paperwork stated that I had declined a wheel alignment. I never declined an alignment because I was never asked if I wanted one. After I complained, the store manager contacted me, apologized, explained that the team had fallen behind, and offered me a complimentary oil change valid for one year as a way to make up for the experience. I appreciated that and decided to give Pep Boys another chance. On August 27, 2026, I had an 8:30 AM appointment to redeem that complimentary oil change. I brought my car in to replace the brake fluid (recommended maintenance in the owner's manual). They were quick, efficient, and charged far less than I expected based on some google searches. I am so pleased! I've been feeling really uncomfortable with the dealership service options, so this was a relief! I'll definitely be back.

They went above and beyond to help us!! We had issues with our car rental place and they were so patient and kind. They helped us through everything and got it fixed asap. The workers are extremely kind and a special shoutout to Courtney. All of them is the best ever WE LOVE YALL!!!

Terrible customer service, and unprofessional inept location. I made an appointment to bring my car in for electrical work. I brought the car in and was told that there mechanic was not in today (they couldn't be bothered to call me and let me know so I didn't waste my time bringing the car in to start with). rebooked the appointment and was told they would inspect the vehicle in an hour and call me to let me know what they find. No body called me so I called them after 1.5 hours. I was given two prices (I had originally been given an estimate for labor that was a third less than what they requoted me for). They also wanted to charge me to check the A/C when the problem isn't the A/C, it's electrical. I have no confidence in this location at all. I will not be taking my car in to be repaired here in the future. They have lost me as a customer.

I walked in and made an appointment for the next day. I was a little surprised that the oil, and oil filter change took more than an hour, and when I asked why it was taking so long, it was explained to me that they do a thorough inspection of the vehicle. I wasn't overly concerned or paid too much attention to it because I was just making sure that my vehicle had an oil, and oil filter change before trading it in for my new Tesla. No more oil changes, no more pumping thousands of dollars into my vehicle every year, no pistons, no carburetor, no timing chain, no belts, no major repairs to worry about anymore. But hey, the Pep Boys guys (and gal) were great! Better than going to one of those fast oil change places. The last one I went to put the wrong tail light bulbs in my car, rendering the rear end of my vehicle invisible at night, except when I hit the brakes. Then, the same fast lube place emptied the oil pan, added the new oil, then a couple of hours later, the oil light came on, and the "EMPTY OIL" light started flashing. Anyway, the whole fiasco was a miniature nightmare. I saw oil pouring out of my vehicle, and because I live in an apartment complex, and not allowed to wo
